The Palau de Congressos de Palma was born out of the need to provide Palma with a large multifunctional space for organizing international conferences and congresses, but also cultural events such as concerts and various exhibitions. Thanks to the collaboration of the Balearic Government, Palma City Council and Meliá Hotels International, the doors of the Palau de Congressos de Palma were opened to the public and professionals in April 2017.

ThePalma Congress Center has become an emblem of the city’s maritime façade. It should be remembered that it was designed by Francisco Mangado and won the best architecture prize awarded in Spain in 2017, in recognition of its unique and innovative architectural character. The result is one of the most versatile conference center in the Mediterranean and a contemporary architectural jewel.
The complex, consisting of the convention center (with two auditoriums, meeting rooms and various multi-purpose spaces) and its hotel (with 268 rooms), is managed by Meliá Hotels International, whose experience in the destination has been key to its launch and consolidation. Furthermore, its accommodation capacity in the city (with more than 1,200 rooms) and its department dedicated to F&B have become an additional asset for this palace, as it allows it to manage all the accommodation, space and catering needs required by business tourism.

Since its opening, the convention center has organized important international business events, such as in the Automobile (Volkswagen, Jaguar, etc.) and Technology (Panasonic) sectors. Palma Congress Center : Convention Center and Sustainable Development

Mallorca and the Palau de Congressos de Palma perfectly meet the most current requirements of the MICE segment: sustainable development, technology, innovation and destination experiences for the business traveler. The convention center also received the CaixaBank Hotels & Tourism Awards in the « Corporate Social Responsibility » category. 2020 – Finalist for the award to the best Congress Centre in the world

This is the first time that the Palau de Congressos de Palma, inaugurated only three years ago (2017), has been selected for the award of best conference center in the world. An important milestone for this complex and for the island of Mallorca, which has quickly become one of the new favorite destinations for the European MICE market.
AIPC is the International Association of Palaces and Convention Centres and awards this prize every two years in recognition of the best venues in the world for hosting major events and meetings. To award this prize, AIPC takes into account the opinions of the clients themselves on the operation of the convention centers and their satisfaction. The evaluation process is led by Ipsos, the renowned market research company, which provides objective data analysis, addressing a range of factors including facilities, management and organization of the center, catering and technical characteristics.
